Dr. P.Nag [Director ] : 
Obtained M.Sc. degree in Geography (Gold Medalist)in 1972 and  subsequently awarded Ph.D in 1976 from Banaras Hindu University. He has also did the Post Doctoral Research from School of oriental and African Studies, University of London (1982-83). He joined NATMO in June 1976 as a Research officer. He was selected as a Director of the National Atlas and Thematic Mapping Organization, Kolkata of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. in 1994. He was also Surveyor General of India between December, 2001 and February, 2005.  He is one of the recipient of Commonwealth Bursary by the Geographical Society on its 150th. anniversary. He has more than 105 research papers and 30 books to his credit. Having a vast experience in digital mapping and remote sensing from the early age which has helped him to joined as Scientist / Engineer in ISRO. He was an UN Consultant in Oman. He was Chairmen of international commissions : ICA, PCGIAP, ISCGM. and was member of IGU Commission(1980 - 88).  He was also the President of the Indian National Cartographic Association ( INCA ) and Fellow Geographical Society of India, Kolkata. He has also awarded Uttaranchal Ratna by Uttaranchal Nagarik Parisad, Recipient of the Technology Excellence Awarded by Technocrat Association of India,  Recipient of a Joint Citation from centre for land use management, Hyderabad. Dr. Nag is also Chairman and patron of several national organizing Committees of the scientific conferences. He delivered 36th Convocation Address of the North Bengal University. The vision of Dr. Nag can be stated as an instrumental in transforming this national mapping (NATMO) set up to a vibrating institution; introduced digital technologies; New mapping program initiated; Research, development and training in thematic cartographic activities added. he reorganized the whole set up into 14 divisions on different activities. He first introduce digital techniques in mapping, remote sensing and GIS in NATMO.

Shri Ashok Kr. Malik [Joint Director] : 
M.A., M.Phil (from J. N. U., New Delhi), Presently holding the post of Joint Director in NATMO. Now he is the In charge of Divisions II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, X and XI of this Organization. He joined in this Organization as a Research Officer in 1979. He was appointed to the post of Deputy Director in June 1990. Prior to joining this office he served as lecturer in Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai from November 1977 to February 1979.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad [Joint Director] :
M.A. in Geography form the University of Agra in 1973 securing 1st position. Received Ph.D. degree on the topic "Ravines of Lower Chambal" in 1977. He has written one book and 20 research papers, was engaged as a lecturer in Geography. He joined NATMO in 1978 as Research Officer and subsequently selected for Post of Deputy Director in 1990. Dr. Prasad is also promoted to Joint Director. He is also member with various universities.
 

Self Profiles of the Divisional Heads of NATMO :

Dr. Radha Krishan Dhabai [Deputy Director] : 
M.A. in Geography from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur and    M. Phil, Ph.D in Regional Development from J.N.U., New Delhi. He joined NATMO on 1st May, 1978 and presently holding the post of Deputy Director and head of Division XI . His field of specialization is Modern Thematic Cartography, Remote Sensing and Regional Development Planning. 

Dr. B. P. Singh [Deputy Director] :
M.Sc in Geography from Banaras Hindu University, joined NATMO as Research Officer on 11th September, 1978. He completed Ph.D. on Medical Geography. He got certificates in Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing from I.I.R.S. Dehradun. Now he is a Deputy Director and officiating as Head of Division - II concerned with Research, Development and Training. 
 

Dr. Ashim Kumar Dasgupta [Deputy Director] : 
M.Sc. (Geog.), Ph. D (Sc). Joined NATMO in the year 1981. At present he is Deputy Director and Head of Director's Secretariat (Division-I) having responsibility for overall monitoring, co-ordination, assistance, planning, technical work in general and printing jobs of the organization. He is trained in soil conservation and holds P. G. Diploma on Human Resource Management. Prior to joining this office he has served as Assistant Soil Conservation Officer under Govt. of Assam and acted as In-Charge of Research, Survey & Design Division. He is also guest examiner of the University of Burdawn.  

Shri Prokriti Ranjan Mallick [Deputy Director] : M.Sc. in  Geography having background in Soil Science & Chemistry. Working as Professional Cartographer in NATMO for about 25 years (1977). Specialized in the field of thematic cartography, map reproduction and printing. Pioneered the method of scribing in the field of modern mapping in this organization. First conceived the idea of compiling handy atlas and designed Student's Reference Atlas and National School Atlas published by NATMO. Life member, Indian National Cartographic Association (INCA), Geographical Society of India, Kolkata. Posted at HQs as Head of the Division - VIII  

Dr. Namdeo H.Khadse [Deputy Director] :
Obtained Master Degree in Geography in 1976, L.L.B. in 1987 from Nagpur University and Ph.D. ( Geography ) from the University of Burdwan in 2004; joined NATMO in the year 1976. Worked with all India Soil & land Use Survey ( 1980-1987). Engaged in research in Environmental and Applied Geomorphology, preparation of maps on health, environment etc. Now he is a Research Officer and acting as Head of Division III:  

Shri Y. Manjhi [Deputy Director] :
M.A. in Geography, Ranchi University, Ranchi, Professional career started in NATMO on and from 1st August,1974. Now Research Officer, Head : Division V and in charge : Scrutiny cell, North Eastern India.

Shri Kirtimay Mukhopadhyay [Deputy Director] :
Research Officer and Head, Development of Spatial Information ( Division - XIII ) of NATMO, joined NATMO in the year 1975. Mr. Mukhopadhyay obtained his B.A.( Honours ) degree in Geography       ( 1971 ) from Vidyasagar College and M.A. degree in Geography           ( 1973 ) from University of Calcutta. He obtained his IDMPS Diploma from Survey Training Institute (STI), Hyderabad. He also obtained Diploma in GIS ( NRDMS Scientists Course ) form STI. Hyderabad. He is teaching Digital Photogrammetry and Global Positioning System (GPS) in NATMO Training Division. He is at present Head Division  - XIII.

Shri A. K. Srimany [Senior Statistical Officer] : 
Senior Statistical Officer is an M. Stat from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata and later on earned an M. LIS degree. He joined NATMO in March, 1978. His earlier official engagements from 1972 were with Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi, Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He is the Head of Division VII. Statistical Information and Documentation from 1994.
  

Shri Asok Kumar Chowdhuri [Senior Administrative officer] :
i) B.Sc. ii) Jr. Accounts Officer (C), Conducted by Controller General of India, Deptt. Of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India. Iii) Trained in Estt & Admn, I.G.A & F, Fffice of C.G.A, , Deptt. Of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India: Joined NATMO on 26.08.2002(AN) as Senior Administrative officer on deputation basis. He has been functioning as Head of Office, NATMO w.e. f 01.01.2003 entrusted with overall responsibilities of administration, Cash & Accounts and Controlling Officer of all Group 'C & 'D' employees of the organization. In addition, he is  detailed to assist the Director, NATMO in generating and implementing policies of Administration, Accounts, Purchases, Budget and expenditure matters etc. In NATMO, he has performed duties & responsibilities of Drawing & Disbursing Officer also.

Dr. G.C.Debnath [Research Officer] :
M.A. in Geography from the University of Calcutta, Master of Population Studies (M.P.S)from the International Institute for Population Studies (I.I.P.S.) Mumbai, Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Sikkim manipal University and Ph.D. from the University of Burdwan. He holds the certificates in Personal Management, Marketing Management from S.I.S.I ( Govt. of India), and Entrepreneurship Development Programme from Jadavpur University, Trained in Geographical Information System from Texas A & M University, U.S.A. and Diploma integrated Digital Map Reproduction System ( I.D.M.P.S.) from Survey of India. He is also fellow of Geographical Society of India (FGSI) and Life Fellow of INCA (FINCA). At present he is Research Officer and Head of Digital mapping and Printing ( Division - IX ) having responsibility of Printing of NATMO maps of the Organization. His area of specialization is Cartography, Socio - Economic Mapping, Geographical Studies, Population Studies & Mapping, GIS and Digital Mapping and analytical report writing etc. He has more than fifteen research publications in his credit. He is also the member and life member of various National and International Organization.
