CIRCULAR

                                                Subject : Holding of Pension Adalats for redressal of grievances of old pensioners.

        Pursuant to the D.O. No. 38/37/08-P&PW (A), dated 21.7.2010 and subsequent D.O. No. 44013/2/2010-P&PW-Coord, dated 27.07.2010 of the Secretary, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions received with DST's letter No. SM/34/24/2010 dated 25.10.2010, Departmental Pension Adalat consisting of the following members is being constituted for resolving grievances of pensioners.

2.                (a)    The Pension Adalats will resolve the grievances received from the old pensioners for payment of additional pensions / family    pensions on completion of 80 years and above (i.e. on completion of 85 years, 90 years etc.) who are facing difficulties in getting the additional pension/family pension due to non-availability of the information regarding date of birth/age in their PPO (Pension Payment Order);

(b)                In absence of specific mention of date of birth/ age of the pensioner in the PPO documents viz. Voter I/ Card, Pan Card, Passport, CGHS Card, Driving License etc. and other guidelines as detailed in the Deptt. of Pension & Pensioner's Welfare O.Ms No. 38/37/08-P7 PW (A) dated 21.5.2009 and 11.8.2009 may be accepted for determining the date of birth/age of the pensioner;

(c)                On determining the date of birth/age, the Pension Adalats will record the same for its transmission to the RPAO-II (SOI & NATMO);

(d)                In case the pensioner/family pensioner is unable to submit any of the documents mentioned in OMs dated 21.5.2009 & 11.8.2009 but claims additional pension based on some documentary evidence, such cases will be submitted to the administrative Ministry;

(e)                The Pension Adalats will be held periodically so that the grievances of the old pensioners are redressed and pending claims are resolved expeditiously.

3.                   It is notified for information of all old pensioners who have not been receiving the additional pension from the bank/treasury on completion of 80 years, 85 years etc. as per Govt. sanction in absence of their actual date of birth/age in the PPO, are hereby informed to apply to the Chairman, Departmental Pension Adalat, NATMO, CGO Complex (7th floor), Salt Lake, Kolkata-700 064 for rederessal of theoir grievances.

4.                    Secretaries of the registered Associations, Officers and members of staff of the organization are hereby requested to inform the contents of this circular to the old pensioners/family pensioners - if residing nearby their residence and facing the difficulties in getting the additional pension/family pension on completion of 80 years and above.
